Today is Sabbath but there is something different about this Sabbath. Yesterday was my last day of teaching until April 10! We have officially entered Semana Santa (Holy Week). I am so thankful for this break from teaching, kids, administration, and the grind of day to day life. I don't have any super exciting plans with the exception of a day trip to the beach and enjoying the "alfombras (look them up!)" and festivities for Easter.
Time is flying by here. Today is the last day of March! I can't even believe it. Once school starts back up in April I will only have about 6 weeks left here. It seems as if time has been in fast forward since February. All of us missionaries have started saying that "it's basically June." That is to say, before we know it our time here will be over and we will not get back this experience. Sure we've been through some really rough times here (and I don't think we are done with them) but we are all so excited to go home. With this being said there will be a part of me that stays here.
God brought me here for a reason. I don't know what that reason was/is but I do know that He has a purpose in everything. For the rest of my time here I hope to "live life." I want to experience all that Comayagua and Honduras have to offer. I don't want to have regrets when I get on my plane in May. I want to form closer relationships with my students. I want to deepen my relationship with God, and I want to leave with a feeling of completion, growth, and satisfaction.
There is so much to tell when I get back home. I don't think I will be able to explain fully. My heart has mixed feelings about this year coming to an end. I'm sure other missionaries understand what these feelings are. Life is always moving but all we have for certain is today. I hope to live each day like I'm going home tomorrow. I don't have many days left....it's basically June (and the sun knows it- HOT)!
